After studying architecture & interior design at The University of Texas in Austin, I had inspiring opportunities in high-end residential & commercial design firms in Fort Worth, Austin, & Dallas, as well as the historic Texas Capitol Restoration- truly the project of a lifetime. I was immersed in opportunities to create, space plan, and oversee construction on small and large scales. From unique flooring designs & the reproduction of historical furnishings, to tech-integrated workstations in law libraries & millwork in laundry rooms- I have experienced a variety of projects and learned how the design industry impacts life and work. Every micro detail impacts the people who inhabit a space.

After passing the NCIDQ exam in 1995, I acquired Registered Interior Designer (RID) status. RID / licensure from the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners requires graduation from an NCIDQ accredited university, a multi-year apprenticeship under licensed interior designers or architects, and passing a highly specialized professional practicum & exam. Once licensed, ongoing education requirements are focused on Health, Safety, & Welfare- including accessibility standards and sustainability. Whether I’m designing for residential or commercial spaces, our aging and varied population necessitates design for accessibility and universal use.

Interior Design, at its core, is about improving environments for the wellbeing of all occupants.

When our first child arrived in 1998, raising a family became our priority, so I shifted into boutique retail & freelancing as a licensed interior designer. I started my self-employed journey as Amy Yeatts Warren, ASID. I've been designing functional and beautifully styled interior & exterior spaces since 1990. My practice focuses on functional space planning & design for both interior and exterior spaces, as well as finish & lighting upgrades. I create original, custom design drawings & specifications for new construction & remodeling projects in residential, light commercial, and small healthcare. I also frequently review or edit plans that clients have brought from outside sources, and offer furnishings & decorating services in existing, finished spaces.

Education. Experience. Integrity.

Design and beauty impact every area of my life- not superficially, but as an instinct.

The imperfect geometric pattern of each artichoke in the garden, the stunning, stone proportions arches & columns punctuated with iron lanterns (as the backdrop of an expressive market), or the organic lines & succulent textures of charcuterie on an aged olive-wood breadboard…captures my attention. An abundance of beauty waits to greet us.

My “rad-ish” lifestyle is the place where my design profession & passion for wellbeing are integrated in this divinely created, always inspired, simply beautiful life.
