After studying architecture & interior design at The University of Texas in Austin, Amy had inspiring opportunities in high-end residential & commercial design firms in Fort Worth, Austin, & Dallas, as well as the historic Texas Capitol Restoration- truly the project of a lifetime. These projectss provided extensive practice developing space plans, designing the intricate details of spaces & furnishings, and managing contractors spanning construction to upholstery. From custom stone & wood flooring designs & the reproduction of historical furnishings, to tech-integrated workstations in law libraries & millwork in laundry rooms- she has experienced a wide variety of scopes & projects.
After passing the NCIDQ exam in 1995, Amy achieved Registered Interior Designer (RID) status. RID licensure from the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners requires graduation from an NCIDQ accredited university, a multi-year apprenticeship under licensed interior designers or architects, and successful passage of the NCIDQ professional practicum & exam. Once licensed, annual education requirements are focused on Health/Safety/Welfare- including accessibility standards and sustainability. Whether she is designing for residential or commercial spaces, our aging and varied population necessitates design for accessibility and universal use.
Interior Design, at its core, is about improving environments for the wellbeing of all occupants.
When their first child arrived in 1998, raising a family became priority, & Amy shifted into boutique retail & freelancing as a licensed interior designer- Amy Yeatts Warren, ASID. She’s been designing functional and beautifully styled interior & exterior spaces since 1990. Her practice focuses on functional space planning & design, along with selection and specification of finishes & fixtures- including landscape design and outdoor living spaces. She creates original, custom designs for new construction & remodeling projects in residential, light commercial, and small healthcare. She also frequently reviews or edits plans that clients have brought from outside sources, and offers furnishings & decorating services in existing, finished spaces.

“Order is the shape upon which beauty depends”. Pearl S. Buck
Amy believes order leads to beauty.
“When a client’s needs and goals are understood, design drawings can be executed. Finishes, fixtures, & lighting can be specified, and more accurate pricing can be supplied by contractors.”
